December 2009

Wow was the last month exciting. I had so many firsts this month that I can't even begin to describe them all. The most exciting thing that I got to do this month was to ride an airplane for the first time. Mommy and Daddy took me to Las Vegas and I got to see Grandma and Grandpa out there. The airplane ride was kind of boring, but Las Vegas was so much fun. There were sounds and lights everywhere and the Christmas decorations were so much fun to look at. I had a really good time and hope to go back sometime.

I also got three more teeth this month (and now get to eat Cheerios) and I learned how to crawl. I started out kind of hopping, but now I've got the crawling thing down pretty well. It works so much better to get from one place to another than rolling does. Someday I'll figure out this walking thing too.

Thanksgiving was also this month and I got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with Mommy and Daddy. It was pretty good. I must say that sweet potatoes and green beans are good foods and should be eaten much more often. Mommy and Daddy took me geocaching again this month too which seems like a lot of driving in the car, but could be a lot of fun as I get older.

If all months are this much fun, I can't wait for more!

November 2009

Once again, the past month has been very busy and I'm already 7 months old!

The best part of the month was the day called Halloween. I got to go to the zoo and there were lots of people dressed up and lots of animals to look at. I went as 'Super G' and had a great time. We went to a party after we got home and lots of people thought I was cute. It was a lot of fun, but I bet I'll like it better next year.

The weather has also gotten nicer so I am able to be outside more. I love my swing and going for walks. I hope that we get to keep doing this because I really like being outside.

I've also started sitting up in shopping carts and in high-chairs when we go out to eat. It is kind of different than being held or my car seat that I used to sit in, but I can look around much better. Speaking of going out to eat, I've discovered that pumpkin is the best food in the world. It is so good with a little bit of pumpkin pie spice in it. My mommy and daddy cooked up a real pumpkin for me. I've also been eating mango, green beans, broccoli, sweet potato, squash, yogurt, apples, and pears. Pumpkin is still my favorite.

Look for more exciting things next month!

October 2009

I turned 6 months old and got to celebrate my 1/2 birthday this week! Mommy and Daddy keep telling me that they can't believe how big I am getting because it only took me 3 weeks to outgrow my 6-9 month clothes and I'm pretty much wearing 12 month clothes now. I get to see the doctor on Friday to find out just how big I've gotten. As you can see in the picture, I started sitting up the other day too.

This past month was quite a busy month. I got my first tooth while Mommy was at the MOPS convention in Nashville. Grandma came down to babysit me while Mommy was gone and Daddy was at work. It was a lot of fun for a little while, but I started to miss my Mommy quite a bit since she was gone for a few days. I didn't let her out of my sight when she got home. Shortly after my first tooth, my second one came in too.

I've gotten to try some new foods too. I got to eat oatmeal and prunes first which was really good. Sweet potato is also pretty good, squash is pretty good, pears are pretty good, but bananas I wasn't so sure of. They tasted kind of funny. Mommy and Daddy tell me that we'll try them again, but I would probably be ok without them. With as much as I love watching people drink from cups, I got to start drinking out of a sippy cup too. It is a lot of fun.

More to come soon. Please look at my pictures too at thetillmannfamily.shutterfly.com

September 2009

Well, I might be a little bit behind in updating this, but Mommy and Daddy have been busy and it hasn't been as easy to get computer time lately. August and September were busy times. I got to go to the beach again which was really fun. Jared came to visit and we drove in the car for what seemed like forever, but it was worth it when we got there. It was a place called Panama City Beach and it was a lot of fun. I got to go geocaching while we were there which Mommy and Daddy like to do quite a bit, but this is the first time I've really had a chance to go along. Then we had a long car ride back home. Maybe I'll like the car more as I get older. Right now, I'm not always sure.

The other fun thing that I got to do this month was that Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for a long weekend. They like to be silly which makes me laugh. They both like to hold me a lot too. I'm looking forward to going with Daddy and Grandpa when I get a little bit bigger. I'm not sure what this 'golf' thing is that they talk about, but it sounds like fun. I had a good time with Mommy and Grandma while they were gone though.

Other than that, I've been reading a lot of books, working on getting a tooth, and talking a lot. Lots of things going on next month too! Stay tuned!

August 2009

Wow! What a month! I got to take my first trip outside of Florida this month when I went with Mommy and Daddy to Nashville. We got to do so many fun things that I can hardly remember them all. The drive was a little bit long, but it was worth it. We stayed at a nice hotel in Nashville and I spent some time shopping with Mommy while Daddy was in meetings. We got to stay out on a farm with my great aunt and uncle outside of Nashville.

On the way home, we stayed in Georgia and when we woke up, we went to the neatest place I've ever been. It was called the Georgia Aquarium and there were so many interesting things to look at while we were there. The fish were so fun to watch.

My other big thing this month is that I started rolling over. To make things a bit more challenging, I decided that I should roll from my back to my stomach instead of the other way around. Since I like sleeping on my stomach, this is much better for me.

Look out world. I'll be moving soon!

July 2009

My third month has continued to be busy with lots to learn and lots to do. Sleep is one of my new favorite hobbies though and I decided that 9-12 hours straight every night is worth every minute. Naps during the day are still good too.

I've had a lot of new experiences this month too. I got to hear fireworks for the first time. They were kind of loud and kept me awake, so I'm not sure how I feel about them. Mom and Dad seem to think that I'll like them someday.

My grandma also came to visit this month and she helped do some painting in between the time that she was playing with me. My bathroom is now painted along with the guest room. I wasn't able to watch much of what was going on because the room smelled kind of funny and I wasn't allowed to be in there much. It looked interesting though. I'll have to remember this thing called painting for when I get a little older.

I've also had a lot to say lately. I love to talk to my mom and dad and anyone else who will listen. Lots of people smile at me and they get excited when I smile back at them, so I've been doing that a lot too.

I haven't gotten to go anywhere out of town this month, but I hear that there will be a lot of opportunities next month. Something about a long drive in the car. I have gotten to go to a sign language class and to mommy's lunch some more which has been pretty fun. Hopefully this long car ride will be a lot of fun too.

June 2009

My parents have picked a much better nickname for me than Grunting Grant. They now call me Super G which I kind of enjoy. My 2nd month was another busy one. I did get to go to the beach like Mommy and Daddy told me I was going to and it was pretty neat. The sand and the ocean are pretty cool and I even got to 'stand' on a surfboard.

The other thing that my mommy has started calling me is Chunky Monkey. I am not sure that I like this one as much as Super G. When I had my doctors appointment, I was 24 1/2 inches long (above the 95th percentile line) and weighed 13 lbs 11 oz (between the 90th and 95th percentile). So, I am kind of a big boy for my age. I just tell people that I'm young for my size.

Smiling has been one of my new tricks this month which seems to make Mommy and Daddy laugh and smile back. They can be kind of silly sometimes. I've also really started to like my swing and like to kick and bat at these things that dangle above me on my gym.

The other thing that I've started working on is this thing called a bottle. I'm not sure about it yet, but we'll see. It may have advantages that I just haven't discovered yet.

Super G

My First Month

My first month of life was a busy one. I've met more people than I ever knew existed! They all came to visit my mommy and daddy and me. They all wanted to hold me and pass me around. It was pretty fun, but pretty tiring too and I had to sleep a lot just to keep up. Everyone keeps telling my parents how good of a baby I am and that I'm always so quiet and content. I've gotten lots of presents from people and have been enjoying all the toys and clothes.

On April 17th I was born. I weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. Mommy keeps telling me that I'm growing because I was 11 pounds 11 ounces just after my 1 month birthday. Some of my clothes have stopped fitting too, so I guess she might be right. I think that I'm going to end up with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

I've already started my travels and have gotten to go to Orlando and to Cedar Key. I've also gotten to go to the 43rd St Deli where everyone fussed over me, church where everyone fussed over me, and a new mommy's lunch with my mommy. It sounds like I might get to go to the beach again next month which sounds like a lot of fun.

Mommy and daddy have also given me a couple nicknames. The first one is Grunting Grant. I talk a lot, especially when I'm waking up from a nap. They think it is pretty funny. They also call me the Grantman which I think is better than Grunting Grant.

Mommy and daddy said that they will send a picture of me to you, so you'll need to pick one and let them know which one you want!
