March 2010

It seems that every month is just as busy as the last. I am really working on trying to figure out how to walk. I have these fun toys with handles that I can walk behind, but I'm still kind of scared to let go and just walk. Maybe next month. I've been trying all kinds of new foods too. I changed to whole milk, I tried saurkraut (which I really like), currywurst, meatballs, cheese. So far I really haven't found anything that I don't like.

There were a lot of big happenings this month. My baptism was a lot of fun. I got my head a little bit wet and then I got to walk around church and everyone was smiling at me, so I started clapping. Everyone started to clap with me which was one of the most fun things I've ever seen. All of my grandparents were here for that too along with lots of other family and friends.

I also learned that I'm going to be a big brother! I hear that this is a big responsibility, but I'm not really sure what it involves yet. I'm sure someone will fill me in before this happens.

Until next month,
Grant

February 2010

As usual, there was lots to do and lots to learn this past month. I decided that while crawling is a good mode of transportation, that working on walking would be far better. I'm getting close and often will let go and stand there for a minute. That always results in falling over though. Someday I need to figure out how to do that without falling down. Then I'll give my mom and dad a run for their money.

I got to go to Orlando to very briefly see Aunt Lisa and Uncle John and then to see some friends of my mom and dad's. They were from Chicago and I hear that it is cold there. Just knowing how cold it has been here, I don't think that anything colder is for me. We did get some time to go out to parks and do some geocaching. Mom and Dad keep telling me that it is fun. I enjoy being outside and the parks usually have some fun playgrounds, so I'm ok with it for now. Maybe I'll get the rest of the idea later.

One of my new favorite things is to get out of my seat when I finish eating and start feeding all of the cheerios that I hid while eating to Visken. He seems to like it too and I laugh when he runs after them or licks my hands. I've also really started to help mom in the kitchen.

Next month is a big month for me. I get baptized and might be walking by the end of the month.

January 2010

As usual, the past month has been pretty busy with lots of things happening. I got to experience my first Christmas and saw my first New Year. Christmas was a lot of fun. There was a tree in our living room which was kind of strange, but it was fun to play with and had pretty lights on it, so I guess it was ok. Christmas was a lot of fun. I got some fun new toys and got to see Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lisa and Uncle John. I fell asleep early on New Year's Eve. Maybe when I am older I'll stay up to see the ball drop, but for now, sleep seems more important.

I've learned lots of new things this month. I have gotten much better at crawling and get around pretty well now. Being mobile makes it much easier to chase my dog around too. I didn't do much traveling this month and spent most of the month pretty close to home. I did get to spend some time going to the gym and to MOPS with Mommy.

Look for more next month.

December 2009

Wow was the last month exciting. I had so many firsts this month that I can't even begin to describe them all. The most exciting thing that I got to do this month was to ride an airplane for the first time. Mommy and Daddy took me to Las Vegas and I got to see Grandma and Grandpa out there. The airplane ride was kind of boring, but Las Vegas was so much fun. There were sounds and lights everywhere and the Christmas decorations were so much fun to look at. I had a really good time and hope to go back sometime.

I also got three more teeth this month (and now get to eat Cheerios) and I learned how to crawl. I started out kind of hopping, but now I've got the crawling thing down pretty well. It works so much better to get from one place to another than rolling does. Someday I'll figure out this walking thing too.

Thanksgiving was also this month and I got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with Mommy and Daddy. It was pretty good. I must say that sweet potatoes and green beans are good foods and should be eaten much more often. Mommy and Daddy took me geocaching again this month too which seems like a lot of driving in the car, but could be a lot of fun as I get older.

If all months are this much fun, I can't wait for more!

November 2009

Once again, the past month has been very busy and I'm already 7 months old!

The best part of the month was the day called Halloween. I got to go to the zoo and there were lots of people dressed up and lots of animals to look at. I went as 'Super G' and had a great time. We went to a party after we got home and lots of people thought I was cute. It was a lot of fun, but I bet I'll like it better next year.

The weather has also gotten nicer so I am able to be outside more. I love my swing and going for walks. I hope that we get to keep doing this because I really like being outside.

I've also started sitting up in shopping carts and in high-chairs when we go out to eat. It is kind of different than being held or my car seat that I used to sit in, but I can look around much better. Speaking of going out to eat, I've discovered that pumpkin is the best food in the world. It is so good with a little bit of pumpkin pie spice in it. My mommy and daddy cooked up a real pumpkin for me. I've also been eating mango, green beans, broccoli, sweet potato, squash, yogurt, apples, and pears. Pumpkin is still my favorite.

Look for more exciting things next month!

October 2009

I turned 6 months old and got to celebrate my 1/2 birthday this week! Mommy and Daddy keep telling me that they can't believe how big I am getting because it only took me 3 weeks to outgrow my 6-9 month clothes and I'm pretty much wearing 12 month clothes now. I get to see the doctor on Friday to find out just how big I've gotten. As you can see in the picture, I started sitting up the other day too.

This past month was quite a busy month. I got my first tooth while Mommy was at the MOPS convention in Nashville. Grandma came down to babysit me while Mommy was gone and Daddy was at work. It was a lot of fun for a little while, but I started to miss my Mommy quite a bit since she was gone for a few days. I didn't let her out of my sight when she got home. Shortly after my first tooth, my second one came in too.

I've gotten to try some new foods too. I got to eat oatmeal and prunes first which was really good. Sweet potato is also pretty good, squash is pretty good, pears are pretty good, but bananas I wasn't so sure of. They tasted kind of funny. Mommy and Daddy tell me that we'll try them again, but I would probably be ok without them. With as much as I love watching people drink from cups, I got to start drinking out of a sippy cup too. It is a lot of fun.

More to come soon. Please look at my pictures too at thetillmannfamily.shutterfly.com

September 2009

Well, I might be a little bit behind in updating this, but Mommy and Daddy have been busy and it hasn't been as easy to get computer time lately. August and September were busy times. I got to go to the beach again which was really fun. Jared came to visit and we drove in the car for what seemed like forever, but it was worth it when we got there. It was a place called Panama City Beach and it was a lot of fun. I got to go geocaching while we were there which Mommy and Daddy like to do quite a bit, but this is the first time I've really had a chance to go along. Then we had a long car ride back home. Maybe I'll like the car more as I get older. Right now, I'm not always sure.

The other fun thing that I got to do this month was that Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for a long weekend. They like to be silly which makes me laugh. They both like to hold me a lot too. I'm looking forward to going with Daddy and Grandpa when I get a little bit bigger. I'm not sure what this 'golf' thing is that they talk about, but it sounds like fun. I had a good time with Mommy and Grandma while they were gone though.

Other than that, I've been reading a lot of books, working on getting a tooth, and talking a lot. Lots of things going on next month too! Stay tuned!
